Most travelers only spend a day or two in Bogotá. It is not considered the highest point in Colombia and is generally overlooked by most travelers.
I think this is a mistake.
I really loved my stay in Bogotá. The city has not experienced as much Greening as other cities in the country, so for me it was the most Colombian. I even stayed longer than I thought because I loved her so much!
However, where you stay in the city (and the hotel you stay in) will have a great impact on your trip. Not all parts of the city are safe and not all hotels here are created equal.
To make the most of your visit, here is my List of the best hotels in Bogotá:
1. Guest House Magdalena
Single room at the Magdalena Guest House in Bogota, Colombia, with a double bed, a wooden wardrobe, a window and a hammock across the room
This affordable guest house is located in La Candelaria, the historic center of the city. The place is very cozy, with a small garden and a courtyard, a cozy living room, conversation and good hosts who do everything to make you feel at home in Bogotá. There is a kitchen that guests can also use.
The rooms are furnished in a simple and minimalist way, but comfortable, with parquet floors and unique works of art on the walls. The bathrooms are where the rooms really shine. I love the colorful tiled floors and the walk-in showers. The water is always warm and has a good pressure (not always the matter in this region). There are also free toiletries and the beds are very comfortable. All the important things to do in Bogotá are within walking distance. So if you want to spend a lot of time visiting the sights, stay here.
2. popular hotels in Bogotá
Located on a quiet residential street in the trendy Chapinero district, this chic four-star hotel offers luxury amenities at mid-range prices. I love the fact that it takes place in this large historical mansion. The place as a whole is incredibly elegant, with an outdoor terrace full of plants, a rooftop terrace and a fitness center 24/24 and 7/7. it even has its own farm-to-table Restaurant/Bar that serves a delicious breakfast in the morning and excellent Cocktails in the evening.
The spacious rooms have wooden floors and great windows that let in a lot of light (although I appreciate that there are blackout curtains if you want to hide it). All rooms have quality mattresses, a desk, a Minibar, a flat-screen TV and a safe. The elegant bathrooms feature beautiful black tiles and free luxury toiletries. It is a quiet oasis in one of the coolest areas of the city.
3. Casa Legado
The five-star Casa Legado in Quinta Camacho is an exceptional hotel beautifully designed in the style of the mid-twentieth century. Each of the 13 rooms is unique; some have a balcony and others overlook the garden. All rooms have a fun and playful atmosphere with details such as colorful wallpaper, Leafy Plants, hardwood floors, fireplaces and beautifully tiled bathrooms with large walk-in showers. Bright and spacious, the rooms also feature a desk, a flat-screen TV with streaming services and a safe.
